Sausage Sizzler - Happy Halloween |

G'Day Sizzlers!
Well it is only my second Halloween since moving to the United States. Last year I really didn't buy into it at all. It just seems to be a retailers ploy to extract a bit more money from your wallet. Also coming from Australia where it is not really celebrated didn't help much at all either! However this year I have fallen for it a little more. My daughter Hayden is a little older and I had a fun morning yesterday at her preschool class as they had their Halloween party. It was pretty cute to see all the kids dressed up. Hayden was a princess ballerina, which I am sure one day will end up costing me money somehow, unless she manages to marry a real life prince!
The talk of Halloween leads me to our special. Twenty dollars for customers that sign up with Sausage Hosting in the next week. That would get you two months for free on our M20 plan or your first month for free on the M75.
I am also going solo this week as our ever opinionated Bram is snowed under with a million different projects. He should be back on board next week. I sure hope so as I am looking forward to him finishing off his local development server series. I am half way to setting up mine, which should save me time when working on the new Sausage site.
Keep on sizzling!

How can I prevent a page from being bookmarked?
This new Sausage Hosting customer was looking for a simple way to prevent visitors from bookmarking pages that have somewhat sensitive information.
Other forum members were quick to offer a variety of solutions to this problem.
I always like seeing how our community can help each other!

McAfee VirusScan 7.0 ME/98/2000/XP US$59.99
http://www.mcafee.com/myapps/vs7/default.asp
The main reason I am highlighting this anti-virus software is because I found an amazing deal on it when I was at the retail chain Best Buy on the weekend. Normally US$59.99 online, I purchased it for US$39.99 but received US$40 worth of rebate coupons, effectively making it free! I also noticed that online you can get a US$20 rebate.
Ok so it cost nothing basically but is it good? In the past of have used PC-Cillin and Norton, both are basically the same as VirusScan. The basics are all there; scanning, scheduling of scanning, email protection and automatic updates of your virus patterns. VirusScan also has protection for your PC when you are syncing your PDA.
McAfee have also thrown in the McAfee Firewall which is great for people not going through a router that gives them protection.
All in all not a bad package seeing everyone needs virus protection and if you can get into a Best Buy and get it for free!

Persuade 20% of Your Customers to Buy MORE Product!
It's a little-recognized fact that at least 20% of the people who have purchased from you once will buy from you again...
IF you follow up with them.
Think about it: One-fifth of your customer base is just waiting for you to offer them something new.
Why? Because when a person trusts you and likes your product or service enough to buy from you once, they'll often
buy from you again and again.
Your existing customer base is four or five times more likely to buy from you than a "cold" market... and the "lifetime value" of these customers is
one of the greatest assets of your business.
So what should you offer these customers? Here are some proven follow-up offer winners:
-
Products that complement the initial purchase
-
More of the same product at a discounted price
-
Newsletter subscriptions
-
An upgrade or add-on to the initial purchase
Remember: Once you've made those initial sales, and in the process collected the e-mail addresses of your customers, it's easy to simply
e-mail all of your previous customers your special follow-up offer... and
all of the sales you make are
100% pure profit!

Editing Sound Files
I am highlighting this brief discussion as I would like other people out there to add what they use for sound editing on their PC. We have a couple of answers already but more would be great.
What do you use to edit sound on your PC? What sort of tasks do you use the software for?
